Research and Development (R&D) refers to scientific research and technological development activities carried out by entities such as businesses, universities, and institutions.

本地醫學實驗室對研究與開發的貢獻 Local Medical Laboratory Contributions to Research & Development 

香港少有醫學實驗室以捐贈形式積極支持科學計畫、研究及技術開發。然而，Apex 在 2023 至 2025 年間，已為多間大學研發項目作出價值超過 5000 萬港元的實物、檢測捐贈。我們預計，在2026至2027年間，包括實物、檢測和現金在內的捐贈總額將突破1億港元。

Few medical laboratories in Hong Kong actively contribute to scientific projects, research, and technological development in the form of donations. However, Apex has made significant in-kind contributions valued at over HK$50 million to university R&D initiatives between 2023 and 2025. We project that our total donations—including both in-kind and cash contributions—will exceed HK$100 million during the 2026–2027 period.

什麼是實物捐贈？What is an in-kind donation?

實物捐贈是指捐贈物品或服務而非資金的慈善行為。例如，Apex 向本地大學捐贈抽血設備、儀器等物資，以及提供血液檢測等服務，以支持各項研究計畫。政府與大學的捐贈，當捐贈者已經交付或正式作出承諾，捐贈者在任何情況下，根據香港政府規定及法律責任，捐贈者絕不能去撤回、收回捐贈。

An in-kind donation is a type of charitable gift consisting of goods or services rather than monetary funds. For example, Apex donates equipment such as blood-drawing devices and machinery, as well as services like blood testing, to support research projects at local universities. Regarding Donations to the Government and Universities: Once a donation has been delivered or formally committed, under no circumstances may the donor withdraw or reclaim the donation, in accordance with Hong Kong government regulations and legal obligations. 

什麼是現金捐贈？What is a cash donation?

A cash donation refers to a financial contribution in the form of money, checks, or other monetary instruments. Regarding Donations to the Government and Universities: Once a donation has been delivered or formally committed, under no circumstances may the donor withdraw or reclaim the donation, in accordance with Hong Kong government regulations and legal obligations. 

現金捐贈是指以貨幣、支票或其他貨幣等價物形式提供的財政資助。政府與大學的捐贈，當捐贈者已經交付或正式作出承諾，捐贈者在任何情況下，根據香港政府規定及法律責任，捐贈者絕不能去撤回、收回捐贈。

社區深入的醫療篩查 In-Depth Community-Based Healthcare Screening:

1) 全面而包容的政策框架 Comprehensive and Inclusive Policy Framework
醫療層深入性政策: 橫跨不同的年齡層、不同職業的階層、不同種族的華人、非華人。Developing healthcare strategies that span all age groups, occupational backgrounds, and ethnicities—including both Chinese and non-Chinese populations.

2)  應對隱性、慢性和老年相關疾病 Addressing Hidden, Chronic, and Age-Related Diseases
隱疾、慢性疾病,老人疾病,深入了解香港現呼時缺乏的醫療,作出補充。Gaining a deeper understanding of currently underserved healthcare areas in Hong Kong—particularly hidden, chronic, and elderly-related illnesses—and taking steps to address these gaps.

3) 與國際標準接軌 Alignment with Global Standards
香港為一個國際城市, 醫療政策必須支持及跟隨世界衛生組織制定規范及標準。As an international city, Hong Kong must adopt and adhere to guidelines and standards set by the World Health Organization (WHO) in shaping its medical policies.
